JOHOR BAHRU: The public will soon be able to get a glimpse into the daily life of Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar in a documentary produced by the National Film Development Corporation (Finas).
The three-hour documentary, slated for six slots to be aired on television in the next few months, will depict the life of the Ruler in conjunction with his coronation, which falls on March 23.
Filming began two months ago, said state education, information, entrepreneurial development and cooperative committee chairman Md Jais Sarday.
“The cameras have been following the Sultan, showing how Tuanku goes about his life, his interaction with his people and events leading up to the main coronation event,” he said at a press conference here yesterday.
Md Jais said that about 40 local and international media, including National Geographic Channel, was expected to cover the event.
Some 40,000 Johoreans are expected to witness the Ruler’s 30-minute parade at 10am on March 23.
After he is crowned, Sultan Ibrahim will join the parade along an 8.5km route in the city centre from Istana Besar to Jalan Ibrahim, Jalan Trus, Jalan Wong Ah Fook, Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Skudai before ending at Istana Bukit Serene.
Sultan Ibrahim will be crowned as the fifth Johor Ruler at Istana Besar, four years after ascending the throne.
His consort Raja Zarith Sofiah Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah will be conferred the title of Permaisuri of Johor.
